Christian Moder - Cruel Seranade

from Songs feat. Kate Quinby by Various Musical Masterminds

/

about

The Samples at the outro are from Shaadi Brass Band Orchestras.

This song was commissioned by Tony Artimisi for a drum clinic at the North Carolina Day of Percusssion 2012. Christian and I met in the studio where he guided me through learning and recording vocals on this shadowy tune that turns into a legit club hit at the end!

lyrics

Standing in the heat
You claimed it's over, between us.
In the land of five rivers
I'm now alone.
Tell me it's not true, that you
found another heart to hold.

I stare at these rooftops,
arrows pointing to the sky
Shaadi bands play in the street
We danced with them, into the sun.

Now all the things you left behind
are making noises in the night
a cruel serenade, playing for me

Life will never be the same
The visions will remain ... of
Bands of Angels taking down my name.

I sit at my piano
playing you out of my head
streetlamps making shadows
I reach for you, but you're not there.

I'm gritting my teeth, again.
As the tears cut down my skin
They run cold down my face.

Life will never be the same
The visions will remain ... of
Bands of Angels taking down my name.
